Focus group summerary and individual write up

Call of duty world at war focus group: This game is mainly aimed at male teenagers to young adults as most of them enjoy the whole call of duty franchise, but another thing which could int rest people into this particular call of duty is the time period in which it is set, being set during the second world war it will appeal to a larger audience than previous call of duties even though they have done previous call of duties set in a similar time this one had a particular edge using next gen graphics and physics to make the game seem even more real than it already is showing limbs being blown off with lots of blood coming from the bodies when they are shot. Both types of research Qualitative and Quantitative can be used in looking at the call of duty franchise as while looking at the main audience of call of duty you can also look at the statistics of how many people play call of duty daily, Despite getting lots of positive reviews the game was called upon about a new mechanic which they introduced where the body parts of the solders that you kill have body party and limps shot off with lots of violence which made parents argue about the rating in which the game recvied. This game recived very high ratings from lots of reliable gaming websites which are known for rating games

Audience profiling allows the media producers to see what the target audience is and how to better their media product so it appeals more, the way in which this is done is by looking at different factors and narrow the audience down by going off age, gender, religon, sexuality, education, ocupation, annual income and disposable income. This shows the media producer which type of person likes the product most and why and who likes it the least and why and where to put the changes if needed.   This helps improve the product and can even make it more watched by a larger audience than preivously just by doing something during the development phase which attracts and different audience than which is excepted to play this type of game.

The main audience of this game would be males aged around 13 to 30 as it has everything which that age of people enjoy such as expolsions, violence , and gore this appeals to this audience which makes the game sell alot better and this particular call of duty introducing limps being able to fall of during combat made the game even more apealing to the audience.
This is usefull for the gaming industry as it would get the indusrty to a larger audience as the game getting that big as then it gets into the other parts of the media like magazines and tv shows, this will also increase sales of games as more people will find out about it in everyday situations, this is one of the most positives of the gaming industry. Another positive of the focus group is to find out what different types of audiences enjoy playing call of duty and what specific parts of the game which they enjoy the most and which parts of the game they feel can be improved  for the next game and how it can attract a wider audience to the franchize and keep it growing into future generations.

There is no focus group, no gamer profile with psychographics, age or socio economic information. I am unable to give you specific feedback on this.
    • Analyse a section of the game and explain why you know it targets this age, gender, socio economic and psychographic
    • Get one or two research links about who are typical gamers and summarise the information in your own words.
    • Which way of describing an audience is more useful in your opinion (demographic, psychographic or socio economic scale)? Why do you think this?
    • Summarise the common answers to each of your focus group questions in a lot more detail in your summary and then explain what the typical audience of this game is like.
    • What were the positives and negatives of your focus group?
    • Why is a focus group useful for the industry?
