Call of duty world at war sold a massive 11 million copies being the 5th best selling call of duty game all time, the thing which made this game unique to the other call of dutys which were out currently was the new mechanics of how the game played, this also being set in a different timeline to the other call of dutys also made it unique and sell more copies as people would want to play in the different times and see what is different than the other call of dutys. Another thing which helps the call of duty franchise sell is people which want to have everyone and make a collection of them which concqently force them to buy the next in the series.
